Site Notes stores only the notes you write. Each note is associated with the URL of the page you were viewing when you wrote it.
This data is stored exclusively through Chrome Storage Sync — a feature built into the Chrome browser that saves data to your Google account. We have no access to this data.
Your notes are saved using the chrome.storage.sync API and synced across your devices via your Google account — the same mechanism Chrome uses to sync bookmarks and settings. Google's own privacy policy governs this storage.
Site Notes does not send your data to any external server, analytics service, or third party. There is no backend. Your notes never leave your own Google account.
The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:
No other permissions are requested or used.
You can delete any note at any time using the "Clear" button within the extension. Uninstalling the extension removes it from Chrome's local storage. To remove synced data from your Google account, use Chrome's "Clear sync data" option in Chrome settings.
Site Notes does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.
If this policy changes, the updated date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
